Henry Shamburger's will, found in "Cumberland County Probate 1767, May,"
Vol. 2, p. 442: Cumberland County, North Carolina 29 Sep 1766

"In the Name of Jehova our God Amen. I Henry Shamborger, being Very week and Low, but of Parfick mind and Memmoria have made and by these presents to make thefe my Last Will and Testament being it is an ordiance of God when he Defied the Prophet Jesoiam to go to the King Jekiskiam and tell him that he Sould prepare his house and Settol his matter's for he would Die and Should not Live, Therefore I thout it proper and Neadfull to follow the Ordiance Firstly everthing property belonging to me Shall be and remain in my hands till the Day of my Death that in Case I should be in Need of anything I may Do with it as I pleases

"Secondly What my Daughter Christina has Received of me, Shall be her poschon, and she Shall have no more of what I now have or Shall have at my Departing from this world, only one Shilling Starrling

"Thirdly I have given and by these present Do give and bequeath to my beloved Son Peter Shamborger all and Singler all my goods with one wagon, hogs belonging to me, also all my houfe fornitude one Bed and furnur all puter boling pots kitteles pans and other property belonging to me, as also my Right of the Emprovement whereas I now live and freely give and bequeath all the Same to my beloved Son, and apint him hole and Sole my Execetor, Henry Shamborger

"Witnisses Jacob Raudenmile Marie Elizabeth Garner WIlliam Garner X" Cumberland County, North Carolina -- May 1767 Then was the Executor of this Will in open Court proved by the oath of Wm Garner and ordered to be recorded and at same time Peter Shamburger Executor therein mentioned by a Law as Executor of will and ordered that he have Letters Testimony."
